In the last issue we talked about using Facebook ads to promote your business even more. In this issue we are going to talk about social media management for improved search engine rankings and traffic.
There have been reports coming out that Facebook draws in more traffic than Google Ads and other traffic-driving tools. Whether this is true or not, it’s not shocking to know that many other marketers are jumping in the bandwagon to try out Facebook marketing for themselves also because this way is a lot inexpensive and less difficult to set up.
Here are some further tips on how to draw traffic from search engines straight to your Facebook page:
Build Lots of Of High quality Inbound links
You can find a number of ways you can lead your potential clients and customers towards your page. This is one of the strengths of a social networking site. You can do this through backlinks depending on the number of ‘Likes’ that you accumulate. This is the onsite way.
The offsite way is to build links using other websites such as your official website, article submission sites, other social networking sites, email signatures and stuff like that. Article submission is one of the cheapest, yet most powerful ways to build backlinks. Not only that, they also allow you to presell to your prospects before reaching to your main page.
- Use A Professional Business Name
It’s alright to become a bit imaginative and fun with your updates. Yet, this isn’t the case when it comes to your business name on Facebook. The key here is to make sure your business is searchable at Facebook. This improves the keyword optimization aspect. The name should not serve as sales pitch so don’t try to stuff them too much with descriptions unless you need to differentiate your name with a similar business name. If the business name is Jeremiah’s Fruit Shakes, for example, and there’s something that sounds quite very close to this, then make it Jeremiah’s Organic Alabama Fruit Shakes.
You should also do the same for URL’s. This is a fairly new addition to Facebook features supposedly placed to make the searching for your Fan page easier. Again, don’t try to be too zany or creative. Consider going for facebook.com/jeremiahfruitshakes. This is pretty direct.
- Complete your Profile
Your landing page plays an important role in receiving plenty of Facebook fans. Your potential customers will decide to read your profile and become your fan based on how useful and interesting your page is. So answer completely as much as possible. Present helpful content in your About Page.
Your landing page is also one of the pages where you can place keyword-rich text. Try to place in words that are most searchable in your industry, so Google and other search engines can easily pick them up. Also, make use of customer feedback or testimonials as these will help you attract more prospects. This will add believability to your page and to your brand in general.
With all the benefits of using Facebook as a business tool, still it’s not recommended that you use a Facebook Fan page as a substitute for an official website. Facebook only adds another dimension to the logistics of online marketing.
